Our Mission

Is to establish a safe space to help combat a number of social dilemas by building a community centre that includes:

An old age retirement home that will ensure that the elderly have sufficient care and assistance.

A detox centre focused on the youth and women of the community but will be open to all battling with addiction.

Creating awareness against depression, anxiety and PTSD in the form of awareness campaigns as well as counselling and support for victims of abuse and gender based violence.

A community hall that will be used for numerous youth, women and men empowerment programes and drives.

Weekly soup kitchen feeding scheme to help provide for those who are in need as well as assistance in the form of grocery hampers and essential supplies.

About Us

Siyathanda Lending A Helping Hand is a Local Non-Profit Organisation that has been assisting less fortunate and underprivileged families within the Phoenix, Tongaat, Chatsworth and surrounding communities since 2015. Over the years we have managed to assist hundreds and thousands of people with daily meals, basic groceries and baby essentials, we also do a number of drives on a monthly basis to assist with requests that we receive from the community.

Project Breakthrough

Over the past year we have been working towards building a community centre in which we hope to combat many social issues that our community faces at the moment. Project Breakthrough will consist of a number of initiatives such as an old age/retirement home to ensure that our elderly receive adequate support and assistance, a detox and rehabilitation centre that caters to those trying to overcome addiction primarily focused on saving the youth as they are our future and introducing empowerment and awareness campaigns to help figh against abuse, gender based violence, depression, anxiety and PTSD as well as a counselling program to those who require help. Apart from this we will also be providing our usual feeding schemes and support to the less fortunate and underprivileged that are in dire need.

With great anticipation and excitement a school which we have been working closely with over the years has given us sufficient land to make this project a reality. While we are still assisting those who are in need it becomes difficult for us to raise the funds needed to commence building and so we would like to put this appeal out to you and your company in hope that you can assist in any way towards this great initiative.

Our priorities at the moment would be to fence and foundation the land and to get this done as soon as possible. We are a fully registered and Section 18A compliant organisation, all donations and investments towards this project will be issued with a Section 18A tax receipt.
